Kickin it with Jaycee

This weekend is the first soccer tournament for Jaycee with her new team. This year she made the "A" team and we were all kind of nervous and anxious for her first game. Last year she was a mid fielder but this year they have started her out on defense. By the second game of the trounament she was switching back and forth from defense to mid fielder. The coaches are still trying to figure out where everyone plays the best. Jaycee doesn't care where she plays as long as she gets good playing time. Last year Jaycee had a coach that taught her alot but did not push the team to acheive their best. There was some good in this because there was great team chemistry. The biggest problem with this was they only won a couple of games the whole year. The kids almost expected to lose every game so it was not a big deal for them to get creamed. This year we can tell it will be different. During the second game the girls were not passing with purpose and he let the group know about it. As soon as he yelled out the need to change they snapped into shape and started passing rather than just kicking the ball around. He is very supportive of the girls but it is clear that he will push them to their best limits. So far their team has one loss and two ties for the weekend.

Preston Program

It has been a Preston week! He was so excited for his program to start and kept counting down until it was time to go to the school. He is such a happy go lucky kind of kid and has a blast with everything that he does. It makes for happy times.

Preston and his buddy Anthony were loving the Kangaroo Hop song.

We caught Parker in deep thought. He must have been wondering what braces would feel like. :)

Preston Baseball

Preston has started playing baseball this year. This is his first time to play the sport and he is loving it. His team is not very good but they have been improving. They actually scored runs two games in a row! Here are some pics of the latest game. It is hard to tell but the one where he is up to bat was a base hit.

Kanaskat - Palmer State Park

I decided on Sunday that we needed to be together as a family. It was a frustrating week and I think we really needed it. Jaycee was told she had to be to two soccer practices on Sunday and Nessa was invited to a kickball tournament and then go to a different church group later in the afternoon. This has been my biggest frustration about moving to Washington is the Sunday activities. Sunday is not a day of rest here. It is go go go as usual. I can't say I'm perfect in this area either. I told both girls no, and that we would be spending the day together. Suprisingly, I didn't get any argument from them.

We had planned on spending a whole afternoon at the Park, but soon realized Aaron had a Scout meeting to go to and then the girls had a fireside that evening. Our whole afternoon turned into just two hours, but well worth it. Aaron BBQ'd some chicken and we had dinner at the park and played. Aaron also got a new fancy camera and enjoyed taking some pictures.
